Bishop Kim W. Brown is the author of The Marriage Talk. He serves as senior pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, affectionately known as The Mount. The Mount has locations in Chesapeake, Virginia, Newport News, Virginia and Elizabeth City & Charlotte, North Carolina. As Pastor, he brings creative and innovative vision and takes an “out of the box” approach to ministry. His leadership style attracts all cultures and age groups, as a result, The Mount congregation has grown from 75 to over 13,000 since 1990 when he began his tenure.  The Mount Global Fellowship continues to expand with multiple church plants and ministry sites while under his leadership.

Bishop Brown earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Norfolk State University. In 1991 he achieved a Master of Divinity degree in academic preparation to preach the Gospel. Bishop Brown completed the Doctoral Program of Ministry in 1998 from Samuel D. Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University.

Bishop Brown maintains close relationships with highly respected ministry and political leaders locally and nationally. Most noteworthy, his servant attitude, respect in the community and willingness to be used outside the four walls of the church make him a well sought-after leader. In 2004, the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s Board of Authority appointed him as a member. Furthermore, in 2008, the Board named Dr. K.W. Brown Chairman.

Bishop Brown and Elder Valerie Kay Brown share 28 years of marriage and counting.  God blessed them with two children, James and Kimberly.

He is the author of the best selling book, Marriage Talk.

Bishop Brown is determined to fulfill the call God placed on his life through obedience to HIS commands. For Deuteronomy 11:26 says, “Today, I am giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse! For you will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today.”
